The Future of MAF: Capabilities and Facilities
Michoud is a NASA-owned facility located in eastern New Orleans and is managed by the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. It is one of the few manufacturing facilities, including the tooling inside, owned by NASA. This gives Michoud the unique capability to manufacture large aerospace structures at one location.
Michoud is one of the largest employers in Louisiana, with more than 4,200 people on-site. It has all the parts of an infrastructure that keep a facility running, including security, information technology networks, power, medical services and fire protection.
