NASA Engineering Day – March 13, 2010
Dream It, Design It, Do It. Imagine the Possibilities! Experience the engineering process through engaging, hands-on activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Virginia Air and Space Center, Saturday, March 13, 2010.
Meet NASA astronaut Susan Kilrain and experience the engineering challenges of space flight. Explore rocket design with NASA engineers. Test various rocket designs in a miniature wind tunnel. Make a UV bead bangle and design UV protection materials. Explore the solar system like NASA and do a fly-by of a strange new planet. Test new robotic designs and meet Robonaut, NASA's Robotic Astronaut Assistant. Create a spaghetti bridge and see if it survives the "Test of Destruction." Hold a piece of the moon in your hand and experiment with the super-cold temperatures of outer space with live science demonstrations. Call 727-0900 for more information.
