DEVELOP Students Launch Virtual Poster Session
During the 2011 NASA DEVELOP summer term, 140 students and young professionals investigated topics ranging from monitoring harmful algal blooms to delineating agricultural tillage practices. Twenty two research projects were conducted, highlighting the capabilities of NASA Earth observations to address local community concerns and enhance decision-making. To see the students’ summer results, please visit IEEE’s Earthzine at www.earthzine.org/summer-2011-develop-poster-session/
We invite you to participate in discussion about the students’ projects by visiting each project's page and offering comments and questions. Earthzine is offering a prize to the team whose project garners the best comments and dialogue, as judged by a panel of scientists.
Sponsored by NASA's Science Mission Directorate Applied Sciences Program, DEVELOP mentors today's young professionals in preparation for careers as tomorrow's scientists and leaders. For more information about DEVELOP, visit develop.larc.nasa.gov
