Richard Charles Arthur Macauley
Richard Charles Arthur Macauley passed away on April 19, 2008.
Rick graduated from East Orange High School in 1946. In the early 1950s, he moved to Newport News, Va., and worked at NASA Langley Research Center in civil service. He enlisted with the Air Force in 1956. His early career with the Air Force led him to South Korea, where he met his wife. While in the Air Force, his field of electronics and communication took him to Arizona, Japan, Oklahoma, Thailand, California, Turkey, and Maryland. He was a Vietnam veteran and among his other recognitions, he received both the Republic of Vietnam Campaign and Air Force Commendation medals. Rick retired from the Air Force in 1978 and settled in Seaford, Va. He worked for the next 16 years at Wyle Laboratories in Hampton and retired in 1994.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wed., April 23, at Amory Funeral Home in Grafton. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Hampton Memorial Gardens in Hampton.
