Margaret "Peggy" Harding Lail
 

Margaret "Peggy" Harding Lail passed away on March 12, 2008.

She was a resident of Hampton for many decades before moving to Florida, where she lived for 20 years. She returned to the Peninsula in 1998 after the death of her husband of 65 years, Frank Jeter Lail. She was employed by NACA in the payroll department in 1952 and then NASA for the Space Task Group as head of the travel office during the 1960s. She delighted in her friends there and the original 7 astronauts. After the Space Task Group was moved to Houston, Texas, she became the head of the Payroll department for NASA Langley until her retirement in 1972.

Plans for a memorial service have not been completed at this time. Memorial donations may be made to her favorite charity, H.E.L.P. (Hampton Ecumenical Lodging and Provisions), 317 Rip Rap Road, Hampton, VA 23669, tel. (757) 850-8956.
