Mary Eudora Carmines, 88, passed away on March 9, 2009.
Miss Mary was a 1937 graduate of Poquoson High School; attended Mary Washington College for two years; and retired from the Personnel Dept. of N.A.S.A. after many years of faithful service. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Poquoson, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. She was a choir member for more than 50 years, and founded the church library. She was a member of the church's Trinity Fund Raisers, Marion Page Circle, the Ladies Bible Class, and the Monday morning prayer group. She carried Meals on Wheels for more than 25 years; was a member of the Hoy Toy Investment Club; was an avid bowler for many years; and during WWII, was honored to christen the U.S.S. Pocono in North Carolina.
A visitation will also be held tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Trinity United Methodist Church by the Rev. Rita Callis and the Rev. Milford Rollins. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
