John 'Chuck' Andrew Walker
John 'Chuck' Andrew Walker, 75, passed away on Feb. 9, 2009.
A native and lifelong resident of Hampton, John was a mechanical engineer who retired from N.A.S.A. after 35 years of dedicated service. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 1/2 years, where he spent two years aboard the U.S.S. Hornet. Chuck was a member of the American Legion and also enjoyed hunting, having his picture taken and absolutely treasured the company of his family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Calvary Assembly of God by Pastor David Highlander with interment to follow in Albert G. Horton Memorial State Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
