James Henry Parker passed away on April 3, 2008.
He was a charter member of Yorkminster Presbyterian Church and a member of Groves Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Jim was a member of the Masonic Lodge 205,Yorktown. He coached York County Babe Ruth Baseball when his sons were on the team and for a number of years thereafter.
Jim retired from Langley Research Center where he worked as an Aerospace Technologist.
Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Fred Reed, will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Groves Memorial Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Frost Funeral Home, Abingdon, Va. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, in Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus, Va.
The family would like to thank all of Jim's 'Angels' who helped and supported him during his illness.
