Frederick J. Wooldridge
 

Frederick J. Wooldridge passed away on Feb. 12, 2008.

Born in Phoebus, Fred was a lifelong resident of Hampton, where he was a member of Central United Methodist Church. After Coast Guard service during World War II, Mr. Wooldridge worked at N.A.C.A. and then Williams, Coyle and Blanchard before joining Clark, Nexsen and Owen Architects and Engineers. A 70-year member of Phoebus Volunteer Fire Company and Phoebus Volunteer Rescue Squad, he was also a member of Monitor Lodge #197 A.F. & A.M. and the Khedive Temple of the Shrine.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, in Central United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James R. Rodden and the Rev. William R. Kyle Jr. officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites and Firemen's Rites will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 2, in R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, downtown Hampton.
