Charles Wesley Hopkins passed away on Dec. 26, 2007.
Mr. Hopkins was a 1942 graduate of Poquoson High School, and served in the United States Navy for two years. He attended the NASA Apprentice School, and retired in 1985 after 33 years of service as a model maker for NASA. He was a devoted member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, where he was involved in many activities including the Men's Chorus.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tonight at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, 836 Poquoson Ave., and other times at 28 Woodland Road. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tabernacle United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dr. Bill Wash. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 831 Poquoson Ave., Poquoson, VA 23662 or Poquoson Rescue Squad, 830 Poquoson Ave., Poquoson, VA 23662.
