William 'Bill' Carroll passed away Dec. 20, 2008.
Carroll has gone home to spend Christmas with the Lord and his beloved wife of 43 years, Mary. William Joseph Carroll, 91, a longtime resident of Yorktown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at St. Francis Nursing Center in Newport News.
Bill was born in DuBois, Pa., and moved to Hampton in 1941 to take a job with NACA, where he spent his entire career, retiring from NASA in 1980. In 1959 he moved into the house that he built in Yorktown, where he resided until September of this year. During that time, he remained a devoted parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 315 Harris Grove Lane, Yorktown, VA 23692.
The family would like to thank all of the friends, neighbors and caregivers who have assisted Dad over the past several years.
