Ralph Winship Stone II
 

Ralph Winship Stone II passed away on Dec. 2, 2007.

His early fascination with airplanes led him into a long and successful career in aerospace engineering. He worked at NACA (NASA). He was involved in the early days of space exploration, the first manned moon landing, and the design of the space station. He retired from NASA in 1975 and went on to teach Biospace Engineering at UVA for five years.

There will be a celebration of Ralph's life at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, at Hickory Neck Church. The family requests that donations in memory and thanksgiving of Ralph's life may be made to the Hickory Neck Church Building Fund, 8300 Richmond Road, Toano, VA 23168.
