A group of employees from different areas of NASA Langley coordinated a special, icy surprise that reminded adults of the "good ole' days" of childhood, gathering around the neighborhood ice cream truck.
Many were surprised today to hear ice cream truck music outside of their offices. Inside the truck, especially equipped with a freezer and a back-end shelf installed and driven by ROME, were a couple thousand icies and popsicles that were passed out by Langley Aerospace Research Summer Scholars (LARSS) Program students.
In this photo, Dan Stead from the Aeroacoustics Branch, gets a free popsicle from LARSS students, Jessica Freidt and Daniel Mills.
A public announcement system enabled students to make their voices heard as they traveled around the center and made eight different stops including Buildings 1199, the cafeteria, 1209, the Reid Conference Center, the Hangar, between 1219 and 1195, behind 1237 and behind 1163.
