RELEASE NO. 01-043

For Release:   June 8, 2001

NASA Langley to Host Business Forum

NASA Langley Research Center will host the annual Small Disadvantaged Business/University Opportunities Forum on June 21, 2001, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the H.J.E. Reid Conference Center in Hampton. Doña A.P. Story, President of Quality Technical Services, Inc., will be the keynote speaker.

The forum presents a high-level marketing opportunity for small disadvantaged business firms and universities. One-on-one meetings allow participants to meet privately with potential NASA Langley customers and to present their capabilities and technology for consideration.

The forum also contains a full day of presentations by NASA researchers, small disadvantaged businesses and minority institutions. Topics and areas of interest include aerospace systems, atmospheric sciences, structures and materials, and systems engineering.

This year’s forum is a partnership among NASA Langley’s Offices of Procurement and Education, NASA Headquarters’ Offices of Aerospace Technology and Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization, Hampton University and Virginia’s Center for Innovative Technology.

The registration deadline is June 15. To register online, or for more information on the forum, including an agenda and information on hotel accommodations, visit http://edu.larc.nasa.gov/sdb/register.html.
