NASA TV will carry mission briefing
LANGLEY EXPERIMENT TO BE RETRIEVED FROM MIR TODAY

Langley's Greg Stover, of the Space Projects Office, will participate in the NASA Mission Status Briefing on NASA TV on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 9:15 p.m. Eastern time. Stover is the project manager for the Langley payload on Mir called the Mir Environmental Effects Payload (MEEP).

MEEP will be retrieved from the Russian space station and placed aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis for return to Earth. The Extra Vehicular Activity to retrieve MEEP is also scheduled for 2:44 to 7:34 p.m. Wednesday, October 1.

NASA Television is available on GE-2, transponder 9C at 85 degrees West longitude, with vertical polarization. Frequency is on 3880.0 megahertz, with audio on 6.8 megahertz.
