EVOLVING AT WARP SPEED: SUPERCOMPUTING - 2001 AND BEYOND

An entrepreneur and former Wall Street analyst will present a historical perspective on the forces that shaped the evolution of supercomputing at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, in the H.J.E. Reid Conference Center, 14 Langley Boulevard, Hampton, Va.

Gary P. Smaby is Chief Executive Officer and Principal Analyst of the Smaby Group, Inc., an entrepreneur who began his career in the information technology industry in 1974 and built an international reputation as a leading Wall Street analyst in the industry.

The founder of the Smaby Group, Inc., advises senior executives at many of the world's largest corporations on strategies for launching and building successful new technology ventures. During his career, he has covered a broad spectrum of the information technology industry from high-performance workstations and supercomputers to networking and digital media.

A similar presentation will be given by Smaby on high-performance computing landscape at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, at the Virginia Air and Space Center, Hampton.
