EDITORS NOTE: OPEN HOUSE MEDIA ADVISORY
For those news media planning to cover NASA Langley's Open House:
o It is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, Saturday, July 19, in Hampton, VA, at the north end of Armistead Avenue. Do NOT go to Langley Air Force Base.
o The NASA Langley Armistead and Wythe Creek gates will be open. A map of tour stops and other materials will be handed out at the gate. All visitors, including news media, should be able to freely drive around Center to tour stops.
o Time-sensitive photo opportunities include:
Visitors -- kids and adults, alike -- getting their photos taken with an astronaut from approximately 11 a.m. through 1 p.m. Cafeteria, B.1213.
Demonstration runs of the outdoor water-powered, 200-mph brake-testing carriage at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. One 5-second run at each time. Near B.1262 parking lot.
