MEDIA BRIEFING PLANNED FOR NASA’S FISCAL 1998 BUDGET REQUEST

A briefing to present the NASA budget request for fiscal 1998 will be held at NASA Langley Research Center at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6. The briefing will be held in the Newsroom in Building 1202 on North Dryden St..

The briefing will consist of two parts:

  • Starting at 1 p.m., a news conference will be broadcast from NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., at which the budget will be presented. NASA Administrator Daniel S. Goldin will participate. Local media will be able to ask questions via an audiovisual link between Washington and NASA Langley.
  • Following the NASA Headquarters presentation, Langley senior staff members will be available for questions, and printed budget information will be distributed.

The NASA Headquarters portion of the briefing will be carried live on NASA Television, Spacenet 2, transponder 5, channel 9, C-Band, located at 69 degrees West longitude, with horizontal polarization. Frequency will be on 3880.0 megahertz, with audio on 6.8 megahertz.

To reach the Newsroom, pass through the Main Gate (after getting a badge), which is on Langley Boulevard. Follow Langley Boulevard to the last right before the Wythe Creek Gate, which is North Dryden Street. Turn right on North Dryden. Building 1202 is the second building on the left.
