NASA LANGLEY SHOWCASES WORK AT VIRGINIA STATE FAIR
NASA Langley Research Center will participate in the Virginia
State Fair in Richmond from Sept. 21 through Oct. 1 with a series
of interactive exhibits for visitors of all ages.
The goal of the NASA exhibit is to inform the public about
programs at NASA Langley.
A high performance computing and communications group will
present exhibits from its kindergarten through twelfth grade
educational program. Other exhibits will focus on electronics, a
spin wind tunnel, model fabrication, adapting aerospace
technologies for commercial applications, noise reduction
technology and crack detection in aircraft. Other highlights will
include how to access information about NASA Langley's research
through the World Wide Web computer network.
The NASA exhibit will be located in the Commonwealth Technology
Building, where the exhibit theme will be the "information
superhighway." Each organization featured in the technology
building has a unique relationship to information and technology.
The building is located near the main entrance of the Richmond Fair
Grounds.
