NASA Scientist Examines Climate Change Issues for Earth Day

Is climate change a serious risk, an environmental hoax, or a good way to sell books?

The public is invited to find out about the science behind the concerns and challenges associated with global climate change in an Earth Day lecture at the Virginia Air & Space Center on Thursday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Bruce Wielicki from NASA Langley Research Center will summarize the science of climate change that is currently the topic of popular books, films and media reports in his presentation: Climate Change: Serious Risk or Environmental Hoax?

Wielicki is the senior scientist for Earth Science at NASA Langley and has studied and lectured on climate science for more than 25 years. He received NASA's Science and Leadership medals and is the Principal Investigator for CERES, a satellite mission to study Earth's radiation budget and climate.

The Virginia Air & Space Center is located at 600 Settlers Landing Road in Hampton, Va., and is the official visitor center for NASA Langley.
