A crane lowers an EXPRESS Logistics Carrier onto a stand

March 21, 2009 – Inside the Space Station Processing Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, a crane lowers an EXPRESS Logistics Carrier onto a stand. The carrier arrived at Kennedy’s Shuttle Landing Facility aboard a C-17 cargo plane and was transported by truck to the processing facility. The carrier is part of the payload on space shuttle Atlantis, which will deliver components to the International Space Station, including two spare gyroscopes, two nitrogen tank assemblies, two pump modules, an ammonia tank assembly and a spare latching end effector for the station’s robotic arm.
