MISSION: STS-71 -- 1st MIR DOCKING

VEHICLE: Atlantis/OV-104
LOCATION: Launch Pad 39-A
TARGET LAUNCH DATE: June 22 (no earlier than)
APPROX. LAUNCH TIME: 5:31 p.m. EDT
LAUNCH WINDOW: 5 minutes
TARGET KSC LANDING DATE/TIME: July 2 at 1:14 p.m.
MISSION DURATION: 10 days (+1 day)
CREW SIZE: 7 up, 8 down
ORBITAL ALTITUDE and INCLINATION: 196-245 statute miles/51.60 degrees

NOTE: Mission managers plan to select an official launch date for Atlantis early next week. Launch remains planned for no earlier than June 22.

NOTE: The vehicle was moved from Launch Pad 39-B to the VAB high bay 3 today. First motion was at about 12:30 a.m. and the vehicle was hard down in the VAB at about 7:30 a.m. Foam insulation repairs will begin tonight and continue through the weekend.

IN WORK TODAY:
· Access external tank for foam insulation repairs which will begin tonight

WORK COMPLETED:
· Rollback to Vehicle Assembly Building
· Disconnect ordnance

NOTE: Work continues to install the Space Shuttle main engines today and tomorrow. Mission managers have set July 30 at the new target launch date for Endeavour.
