The rocket launch competition is an annual activity conducted within the Space Systems Engineering Department of the Space Studies Program. The International Space University's tradition of using a different host site for the program each year has provided a wide variety of launch pad locations from soccer stadiums to European cities, and, now the same site that launched the space shuttles to the International Space Station and the first man to the moon.

NASA Kennedy Space Center and the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla., are co-hosts for this year's session.
