Heads of Agency News Briefing Set for Thursday

Reporters at participating NASA centers will be able to ask questions of NASA Administrator Michael Griffin and his counterparts from the International Space Station partnership at Thursday's 1 p.m. EST news conference from the press site at the Kennedy Space Center, Fla.

News media who want to participate should contact their nearest NASA center for accreditation information.

The news conference follows the International Space Station Heads of Agency meeting at KSC which brings together the leaders of the Canadian, European, Japanese, Russian, and U.S. space agencies.

In addition to Griffin, news conference participants are:

  • Canadian Space Agency Acting President Virendra Jha
  • European Space Agency Director-General Jean-Jacques Dordain
  • Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency President Keiji Tachikawa
  • Russian Federal Space Agency Head Anatolii Perminov


The news conference will air live on the NASA TV media and public channels, which are available on an MPEG-2 digital C-band signal accessed via satellite AMC-6, at 72 degrees west longitude, transponder 17C, 4040 MHz, vertical polarization. In Alaska and Hawaii, they're on AMC-7 at 137 degrees west longitude, transponder 18C, at 4060 MHz, horizontal polarization.
