NASA/KSC is a sponsor of the 2004 National Association of Minority Engineering Program Administrators, Inc. (NAMEPA) National Conference on February 11-14 in Orlando, Fla. This year's theme is "Beyond the Margin: Innovative Strategies for Diversity, Collaboration and Results." Since 1979, NAMEPA has served to raise the value of educators, corporations, government agencies and non-profit organizations. The group is dedicated to offering a complete overview of the total effort and challenges essential in developing a minority engineer. On February 12, the luncheon keynote speaker is KSC Deputy Director Dr. Woodrow Whitlow. He is discussing the conference theme as it relates to leadership. He is also speaking about the similar goals of NAMEPA and NASA, to increase the quantity and quality of our nation's engineering workforce.
