STS-129 Foreign National Media Badging Instructions:

STS-129 mission badges will be available Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, and are good for the STS-129 mission (through landing day).

Foreign national media are required to have two badges: a KSC machine pass *and a green-and-white mission badge.

You must stop first at the KSC Badging Office on State Road 405 to obtain the KSC machine pass. They are open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

You must then proceed to the Press Accreditation Building on State Road 3 for your green-and-white mission badge. Hours for the Press Accreditation Building for STS-129 are as follows:

  • Thursday, Nov. 12 - 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 13 - 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 14 - 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, Nov. 15 - 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
  • Monday, Nov. 16 - 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 27 - 6:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.

*NEW: Due to a change in NASA policy at the John F. Kennedy Space Center, foreign national media may now drive their own vehicles on center to Kennedy's Press Site per the process outlined in "KSC Badging Policy for Foreign Nationals."

Directions To State Road 405 Kennedy Space Center Badging Office and then to the Press Accreditation Building on State Road 3:

From the Cocoa Beach Area: Take A1A north toward Cape Canaveral. After A1A turns into State Road 528, you will pass the exit to Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and the cruise ships. Do not take this exit but continue on State Road 528 going west, passing over the Banana River and Indian River bridges, until you get to the US 1 exit. Turn right off the exit onto US 1 towards Titusville. Go approximately 20 miles to the State Road 405 exit, turning right on State Road 405. The Kennedy Space Center Badging Office is approximately 5 miles on the right, just past the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Go in and get your badge.

You will now proceed to the Press Accreditation Building on State Road 3.

Turn left out of the badging building parking lot onto State Road 405 going west past the KSC Visitor Complex. Go approximately one-half mile and turn left at the light onto Space Commerce Parkway which will deadend at State Road 3. Turn right on State Road 3, and the Press Accreditation building is about a mile on the left (across from the Air Liquide plant).

Directions to the Press Site from the Press Accreditation Building:

Turn right out of the badging building parking lot and proceed approximately 1/2 mile to Gate 2. After showing your badge, proceed ahead traveling under the overpass and go approximately four miles toward the VAB. Turn right at the light at Saturn Parkway, passing the OSB building on the left and the OSB II building on the right. The Press Site is just past the OSB II building. You will see a sign at the entrance marked "LC-39 Press Site." Turn right into the entrance and bear left into the lower parking lot.
