On Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the payload canister for mission STS-124 is lifted to the payload changeout room. Inside the canister are the Japanese Experiment Module - Pressurized Module and the Japanese Remote Manipulator System. The changeout room is the enclosed, environmentally controlled portion of the service structure that supports cargo delivery to the pad and subsequent installation into the space shuttle's payload bay.
