Expendable Launch Vehicle Status Report
At a meeting of launch managers this afternoon, the countdown for the launch of AC-79/GOES-K was cleared to begin on schedule at 5 p.m. today. Liftoff from Pad B at Launch Complex 36 is targeted to occur at the opening of a launch window which extends from 1:49 - 3:08 a.m. EDT.
There is a 0% chance of a weather criteria violation during the overnight launch opportunity. At launch time, clear skies are forecast with a temperature of approximately 63 degrees, relative humidity 65% and northerly winds 5-12 knots.
Launch coverage on NASA Television is scheduled to begin at 12:30 a.m.
Media planning to attend the tower rollback photo opportunity will depart from the Gate 1 Pass and Identification Building on Cape Canaveral Air Station at 10:15 p.m. Media covering the launch from Press Site 1 will depart at 12:30 a.m.
