Q. What if my college or university does not have a Co-op Program agreement with the Kennedy Space Center?
A. We can consider you for co-op vacancies as long as you meet minimum requirements and are referred to us by your college or university's Co-op Office or other appropriate official. Your institution must also send your resume, academic transcript and a proposed work/study contract with planned graduation. The application package should be sent to:

Mail Code: BA-C

Applications are considered only for the work term recommended.

Q. Does Kennedy provide housing or a housing allowance for co-op students?
A. Kennedy Space Center does not provide a housing allowance for co-op students. Kennedy does, however, provide a listing of rental units that co-ops, who are returning to school, have informed the Co-op Coordinator of their availability. The listing also includes names of Kenedy employees who have rooms and places for rent. We also provide new and returning co-ops the names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses of all co-ops who will be at work during the term as additional potential housing leads.

Q. Are there any co-op programs for students in between high school and college?
A. NASA's Kennedy Space Center instituted a Pre-college Trainee (Co-op) Program that targets graduating high school seniors who are prepared for the rigors of pursuing a degree in science or engineering. Currently, it is only being offered to local high schools in Brevard County. However, we plan to expand recruitment for this program to high schools within the commuting area of the Center (50 miles).

Q. Does NASA hire foreign nationals?
A. Because NASA is an agency of the government of the United States of America, employment with NASA is restricted to citizens of the United States of America. Also, although NASA does contract with private industry for services, generally these contracts are with major companies as opposed to individuals.

Q. How do I find out about Internships/Training Programs for non-US citizens?
The majority of internship programs that NASA Kennedy Space Center offers are for U.S. citizens. However, each of NASA's ten field centers handle their educational programs slightly differently, so you may wish to check each NASA Center to see if any of them offer training/internship programs for non-US citizens.
