Susan P. Kroskey
Chief Financial Officer

Susan P. Kroskey is the chief financial officer (CFO) at NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Fla. She is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of centerwide resources and financial management systems and processes. The CFO serves as the principal advisor to the center director on all financial activities. She manages the center's financial full cost management for planning and execution of center G&A , corporate G&A and center services pools ensuring proper integration with projects/programs. Ms. Kroskey is responsible for managing the activities of 124 civil servants and contracted employees assigned to the Chief Financial Organization.

Prior to this assignement, Ms. Kroskey served as the executive director of the Cape Canaveral Spaceport Management Office (CCSMO) at KSC, and was responsible for the contract management and administration of the Joint Base Operations and Support Contract (J-BOSC). In this capacity, she was responsible for the joint program management between KSC and the United States Air Force, 45th Space Wing (CCAFS and PAFB) in support of a safe, efficient and effective environment for providing premier base support to the space launch community. Kroskey was designated to be the deputy director of the Joint Performance Management Office (JPMO), now CCSMO, in May 2000 during the KSC 2000 reorganization. Prior to that time, Kroskey served as the deputy director of Installation Operations since September 1999, and served as acting deputy director in the same position since September 1998.

Ms. Kroskey has also served in numerous managerial positions under the Office of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) including chief, Center Support Resources Management Office; chief, Institutional Resources Management Office; chief, Central Budget Office; and deputy CFO for Resources.

Kroskey entered the federal service in 1982 as a presidential management intern (PMI). She completed the PMI two-year development program, served in various program analyst positions under the CFO and graduated from the Simmons Business College Middle Management Development Program for Women prior to her initial selection as a supervisor in 1989. Kroskey has received numerous awards and honors including the KSC Federal Woman of the Year in 1992, the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal in 1993, the NASA CFO Special Services Award in 1997, the nomination for a National Rotary Pace Achievement Stellar Award in 2000, a NASA Exceptional Service Medal in 2002, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Medal in 2005. She completed the SES Career Development Program in 2003.

Kroskey was born in Omaha, Neb., and graduated from Rutherford High School in Panama City, Fla., in 1975. She graduated from Emory University in 1979 with a degree in political science and completed a Master's degree in public administration at Florida State University in 1982.
