Nancy Bray
Deputy Director
Center Operations



Nancy Bray is the deputy director for the Center Operations directorate (TA), at NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Center, effective January 2009. She provides guidance and assistance to the director, Center Operations, in supporting all centerwide services and operations under the purview of TA.

Bray was assigned as the associate director for Institutional Services in Center Operations before becoming the deputy director. She was responsible for institutional contract management; medical and environmental management; facilities construction, operations, maintenance and engineering; and operations support. Prior to her appointment as associate director for Institutional Services, Bray was chief of the Operations Support Division within Center Operations.

From January through July 2003, Bray was assigned to the associate deputy administrator for Institutions and Asset Management, working at NASA Headquarters.

Bray has supported KSC's institutional missions since she began her career with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in 1989. She has served on three major base operations acquisition teams, including chairing the 2007-2008 Institutional Services Contract Source Evaluation Board.

Bray was awarded the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal for her accomplishments in facilities maintenance and the NASA Exceptional Service Medal for the establishment and management of the first-ever joint contract between NASA and the Air Force.

Bray received her Bachelor of Science in industrial and systems engineering from the University of Florida in 1988, and earned an MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology in 1992.
