Nancy P. Bray is the director of the Center Operations Directorate at NASA’s John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida, providing senior management, direction, and evaluation of base operations and installation management services.
Prior to her selection as director, Bray served as the deputy director of Center Operations, providing guidance and assistance to the director in support of centerwide services and operations. Bray has served the KSC institution since she began her career at NASA in 1989 with responsibilities ranging from institutional contract management, protective services, medical and environmental management, facilities construction, operations, maintenance and engineering, and logistics and operations support. She has served on three major base operations acquisition teams, including chairing the 2007–2008 Institutional Services Contract Source Evaluation Board.
From January through July 2003, Bray was assigned to the associate deputy administrator for Institutions and Asset Management at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., integrating agencywide institutional issues.
Bray is a mentor to several early career employees and serves as KSC’s executive champion for KSC’s Leading and Influencing Others at NASA (LION) mid-career leadership development program and KSC’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) employee resource group. She received the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal, the NASA Exceptional Service Medal, and the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal for her contributions to the agency. Bray earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial and systems engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, in 1988, and a Master of Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida, in 1992.
