Internship Opportunities in the Habitability and Human Factors
Looking for an internship opportunity? There are many ways to achieve them: directly with NASA, though the National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI), the Universities Space Research Association (USRA), or though contractors Lockheed Martin and Wyle. Human Systems Integration (HSI) Knowledge Broadcasts
HSI at NASA integrates human health and performance concerns into system design by considering the flight crew as a subsystem and as part of total system performance. This is accomplished by evaluating crew needs, identifying the key drivers to vehicle design, and shaping operational concepts. HSI ensures human concerns (health and performance) are integrated with other vehicle subsystems from the beginning of a project through operation and even decommission. HSI connects human-related subject matter areas (including training, safety, health, human factors, and operations) to really look at all aspects of the human in system design.
