NASA TV Highlights Astronaut's Return From Space

NASA TV captured highlights of astronaut John Phillips' journey home on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft with his Expedition 11 crew mate Sergei Krikalev and American businessman Greg Olsen. NASA TV is airing the video file starting today at noon EDT.

Six months in space taught Phillips to appreciate the little things in life: "a hot steaming pizza and a big, cold mug of beer," as he recently told reporters during his stay on the international space station.

The NASA astronaut got his wish just hours after landing Tuesday in remote Kazakhstan. Friends and colleagues surprised him with his longed-for meal. Another treat for Phillips was being able to wish his wife a happy birthday, in person. Phillips launched to the station on his own birthday six months ago.
