HOUSTON -- NASA has awarded a follow-on contract to Computer Science Corp. of Fort Worth, Texas, to support the agency's aircraft used for astronaut training and flight research. The contract has a potential value of approximately $163 million.

Work will be done under the Aircraft Maintenance and Modification Program to provide flight line, intermediate and depot level maintenance, repairs, modifications and engineering support for NASA aircraft. The aircraft are used at NASA's Johnson Space Center operations at Ellington Field in Houston and facilities in El Paso, Texas; Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.; NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center at Edwards, Calif.; and NASA's Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va.

This follow-on continues services provided by Computer Science Corp. under a previous contract that was effective March 1, 2004, through Aug. 31, 2009. The new contract begins Sept. 1, 2009, and continues through Feb. 28, 2010. There are two one-year options available to extend the contract, if exercised.
