NASA's Johnson Space Center to Close for Edouard
HOUSTON – NASA's Johnson Space Center will be closed from noon Monday through Tuesday because of the threat of tropical storm Edouard. Plans call for the center to reopen Wednesday.
The closing gives JSC employees the opportunity to make preparations to care for family members and property.
Edouard is predicted to cross the Texas coast early Tuesday.
Flight control of the International Space Station will continue from Houston and the Space Station Mission Control Center at JSC will remain open during this period.
Center employees should check with JSC's Employee Information Line for updated information on the status of the center. The local telephone number is 281-483-3351. If local communications are disrupted, JSC has a toll-free Employee Information Line hosted at the Marshall Space Flight Center. That number is 877-283-1947.
