NASA Johnson to Hold Memorial for David Beverly

HOUSTON -- NASA's Johnson Space Center will hold a memorial at 10 a.m. CDT Wednesday, April 25, to honor senior avionics systems engineer David Beverly, who was killed in a shooting incident at the center on Friday, April 20.

The memorial will be held in Johnson's Teague Auditorium for NASA employees and contractors. The event will not be broadcast on public NASA TV and is not open to the public.

Media may attend. Video and still cameras will be allowed in the auditorium. However, video cameras may not use lights, and live cables may not be run from inside the auditorium. However, a live feed of the memorial provided by NASA cameras will be available outside the auditorium. Still camera flashes are acceptable. No media standups or media commentary will be allowed inside the auditorium.

Media planning to attend should contact the Johnson Space Center Newsroom at 281-483-5111 by 4:30 p.m. CDT today. Media should arrive at Johnson's main gate to be credentialed no later than 9 a.m. CDT Wednesday.
