NASA Soars Above the Rim at NBA All-Star Jam Session

Basketball fans should prepare to travel across the universe when they visit NASA’s "The Vision for Space Exploration Experience" at the 2006 NBA All-Star Jam Session Feb. 16-20 at Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center.

The Vision for Space Exploration Experience dome is a hexagon-shaped, 3-D theater featuring a five-screen presentation on the Vision for Space Exploration, a plan that will return humans to the moon and travel beyond. The dome's interior becomes a floor-to-wall-to-ceiling window that takes explorers to other worlds. Through the dome's projection, visitors step on the surfaces of the Earth, moon and Mars.

For Jam Session fans interested in meeting NASA’s most extreme explorers, astronauts will be at the NASA exhibit 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 18 and Feb. 19 to answer questions and sign autographs. In addition to the dome, the NASA exhibits will include interactive kiosks; an opportunity to have your picture taken in a spacesuit; and models of robots and space exploration vehicles.

All of NASA’s exhibits can be found in Exhibit Hall A of the convention center.
