The fourth and final spacewalk planned for the current residents of the International Space Station (ISS) will air live on NASA TV starting at 11:30 a.m. EDT Friday, Sept. 3.

In the fifth month of a six-month flight, Expedition 9 Commander Gennady Padalka and Flight Engineer/NASA ISS Science Officer Mike Fincke will begin their venture outside about 12:50 p.m. EDT. They will wear Russian spacesuits and exit the ISS Pirs Docking Compartment airlock to work on the exterior of the Zvezda living quarters module.

Spending almost six hours outside, Padalka and Fincke will continue outfitting the Zvezda with navigation aids for a new ISS supply spacecraft called the European Automated Transfer Vehicle. The new cargo ship is scheduled for its first flight in 2005. The crew will also install various other new components on Zvezda.

The spacewalk is the fifth of Padalka's career and Fincke's fourth.

NASA TV is available in the continental U.S. on AMC-6, Transponder 9C, C-Band, at 72 degrees west longitude. The frequency is 3880.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz. In Alaska and Hawaii, NASA TV is available on AMC-7, Transponder 18C, C-Band, at 137 degrees west longitude. Frequency is 4060.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz.
