STATEMENT OF JSC DIRECTOR JEFFERSON D. HOWELL, JR., ON THE RESIGNATION OF NASA ADMINISTRATOR SEAN O’KEEFE

"NASA has benefited from the strong leadership of Sean O’Keefe," said Jefferson D. Howell, Jr., director of the Johnson Space Center. "He has seen us through very challenging times, and through his efforts has forged a strong NASA team, with a shared vision for our future."

"He has us well positioned to return the Space Shuttle fleet to flight early next year, to continue building the International Space Station, and to further expand our presence in the universe."

"I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with him and wish him all the best in his new endeavors."
