NASA Officials Hold First Return to Flight Status Briefing

NASA Associate Administrator for Space Flight William Readdy will lead a status briefing at NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston on Monday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. EDT.

Readdy, Shuttle Program Manager Bill Parsons and Return to Flight Planning Team Leader Jim Halsell will provide an overview of the agency's "Implementation Plan for Return to Flight and Beyond." Readdy co-chairs the Space Flight Leadership Council, the panel overseeing NASA's return to flight efforts.

The briefing will be broadcast live on NASA Television. Media desiring to attend the briefing should contact JSC Public Affairs at 281/483-5111. Questions will also be taken from participating NASA centers.

NASA Television is available on AMC-9, Transponder 9C at 85 degrees west longitude, vertical polarization, with a frequency of 3880.0 MHz, and audio of 6.80 MHz.

NASA's Return to Flight Implementation Plan will be available on the Internet by 9 a.m. EDT, Monday, Sept. 8 at:
