NOTE TO EDITORS: NASA Administrator O'Keefe, U.S. Rep. Delay to Visit Johnson Space Center

NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe, accompanied by U. S. Representative Tom DeLay (R-Texas), will visit the Johnson Space Center Thursday, Jan. 17, as the recently-appointed Administrator continues a tour of NASA's 11 field centers.

During his trip to Houston, O'Keefe will be introduced by House Majority Whip Tom DeLay. The two met Dec. 4 in the Representative's Washington office.

Media are invited to follow the Administrator and DeLay as they tour Johnson Space Center facilities. O'Keefe will be available to speak briefly with media at the conclusion of the tour.

Media wishing to participate in Thursday's activities must contact the newsroom no later than 4 p.m. today for accreditation. Transportation onsite at JSC will be provided and media must be in place at the main gate no later than 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17.

O'Keefe was sworn in Dec. 21 as the agency's 10th chief, following his confirmation by the U.S. Senate on Dec. 20. President George W. Bush nominated him for the position Nov. 14.
