Johnson Space Center Hosts "Pathway to the Future" With Annual Open House

NASA Johnson Space Center invites the public to experience a "Pathway to the Future" during its annual Open House from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, August 28.

Visitors will get a first-hand look at the Space Shuttle and International Space Station flight control rooms in NASA’s Mission Control, view astronaut training facilities, including the Sonny Carter Training Facility where astronauts train for space walks, and see a variety of NASA aircraft at nearby Ellington Field.

Hundreds of NASA employees, including astronauts, scientists, and engineers will demonstrate the multifaceted work being conducted at JSC as the center prepares for human space flight and technological research in the new millennium. Throughout the day, special multi-media presentations will be offered in the Teague Auditorium, while children can take advantage of many interactive educational activities in the Teague lobby.

NASA’s Johnson Space Center is located south of Houston on NASA Road One. Visitors can walk through the 1600 acre site or take advantage of the tram service between NASA buildings, Ellington Field, the Sonny Carter Facility, and many parking areas on site.
