Release: J98-42

Statement Johnson Space Center Director George W.S. Abbey on the Death of Louise Shepard

Once again, the hearts of all of us at the Johnson Space Center go out to the Shepard family.

Louise Shepard was a very special person. She was a constant source of strength for Her husband, Alan, and a valued, effective advocate of the human spaceflight program from its inception.

We send our deep condolences to her three daughters and the entire Shepard family.
