JSC Engineers to Visit 400 Local Classrooms for National Engineers Week

Engineering and technical professionals from the Johnson Space Center, Rockwell Space Operations Co., Loral Space Information Systems and McDonnell-Douglas Corp. will visit Houston-area school classrooms during the Feb. 18-24, 1996, National Engineers Week event.

Over 200 representatives from JSC and the three contractors will visit 400 classrooms to conduct hands-on science and technology activities with students. Classroom visits were arranged through JSC1s Education Outreach Program in response to educators1 requests.

The JSC Education Outreach Program participates in National Engineers Week to motivate students to pursue science, mathematics and technical courses and to demonstrate how those subjects apply to real-world careers.
