JSC SELECTS PENNSYLVANIA FIRM FOR RUSSIAN LANGUAGE SERVICES

NASA's Johnson Space Center today awarded a $41 million contract to The Corporate Word of Pittsburgh, PA, for Russian language services at the center.

Under the contract, The Corporate Word will provide interpretation, translation, language training and logistics support for the International Space Station and the Shuttle/Mir Phase One Programs in the United States, Russia, Europe and other countries when necessary. The contract, which goes into effect immediately, is a continuation of services currently being provided by TechTrans International, Inc., of Houston.

The total awarded cost and fee of the seven-year effort will be divided into a one-year base period plus four one-year options and one two-year option. Other companies submitting proposals were TechTrans; ASE&T; International Service Corp., Arlington, VA; Environmental & Petroleum Translation Consultants International Corp., Lafayette, LA; Language Interface, Inc., Houston; McElroy Translation Company, Austin, TX; Russian and East European Partnerships, Inc., Manchester, NH; Russian Language Services, Arlington, VA; and Russian Tech. Language Services, Inc., Tallahassee, FL.
