NASA NEWS

Kyle Herring October 7, 1994

RELEASE: 94-067

NOTE TO EDITORS:

WEATHER LIKELY TO PREVENT COLUMBIA STOPOVER

Poor weather through Texas and much of the Gulf Coast region likely will prevent Space Shuttle Columbia from stopping over at Houston's Ellington Field Saturday. Columbia will begin a cross-country trip to California for routine maintenance, but probably will miss the Houston stop, routing instead through Air Force bases in Oklahoma or Kansas. Please check the NASA Broadcast News Service recording at 483-8600 for updates Saturday. Columbia is en route from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, to Rockwell International's Palmdale, California, facility for a six-month maintenance period.
