What is the Wall of Honor?

Each year the University of Houston – Clear Lake (UHCL) honors our nation’s veterans by hosting a Veteran’s Day celebration and this year they asked JSC to participate. JSC created a “Wall of Honor” on which employees can write their good wishes and thanks to our service men and women. The wall, which features a panel for each of the military branches, will be travelling to different building on-site and a duplicate wall will be at contractor facilities.

The wall will be displayed at the UHCL Veteran’s Day celebration on Nov. 11. After the celebration, one wall will be divided into its individual panels, and each panel will be sent to its respective military academy, along with a title panel and images reflecting military contributions throughout NASA’s history. The second wall will be sent to a military hospital.

What is the Care Package Drive?

In conjunction with the Wall of Honor, JSC will be participating in a care package drive for deployed service members which is being sponsored by TeamNASA. Items will be collected in various locations, both on-site and at contractor facilities, from October 26 to November 13. Following the collection of items, there will be an organized event to pack and send the care packages to deployed service members.
