NASA program and project managers, researchers, and students are invited to participate in the 8th annual Software Assurance Symposium (SAS), a showcase of software research. The event, which is sponsored by NASA's OSMA Software Assurance Research Program and managed by the NASA IV&V Facility, will be conducted September 22-23, 2009, and will welcome participants from across NASA Centers, and both the European and Japanese Space Agencies.
Those who attend the event will experience presentations on cutting-edge software and safety assurance. The research initiatives will be presented in two parts at the conference. Morning sessions consist of executive briefings, which are high-level overviews of the research. These briefings define the researcher's goals, objectives, and approaches. Researchers will speak to outstanding results from the projects. New software assurance tools will be highlighted. During the afternoon sessions, researchers will give technical briefings that elaborate on their research, and offer a clear and detailed understanding of their progress and results. The event offers an overview of the current state of software and safety assurance to those in attendance.
