Proposal Submission

The Research Infusion Initiative funds software development/assurance teams that wish to apply one of the selected technologies to their projects during the upcoming calendar year. Available funding is only intended to be used for infusion/integration activities and cannot be used to further develop a technology. The principal investigator (PI) of the collaboration must be a member of the software development/assurance team, not the technology provider team. The PI must be a NASA civil service employee, a Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) employee, or a contractor with a contractual vehicle in place with NASA that can support the scope and period of performance of the proposed infusion. No new contracts will be established to support this process. If the PI is not a NASA civil service employee, the PI must submit a proposal through a NASA or a JPL point of contact (POC) using the provided Research Infusion proposal template. Typically, the NASA or JPL POC is the NASA Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) or technical manager of the software development project to which the technology is proposed to be applied.

To submit a proposal to participate in the Research Infusion Initiative:
  1. Attend the WebEx teleconference (date TBD) . If you are unable to attend, the slideshow will be posted after the WebEx.
  2. Review the documentation for the technologies available for collaboration, and determine which one is best suited to your development project. Contact us with any questions about possible choices.
  3. Consult the technology provider (contact information will be provided upon request). In discussions with the technology provider, determine whether your development project is a good match to the technology. If so, contact us to let us know you will be submitting a proposal.
  4. Download the proposal template.
  5. Complete the proposal in consultation with the technology provider. Detailed instructions are included in the proposal template.
