This will be the inaugural running of the CFC 5K Run/Walk and Kids K at the NASA IV&V Facility in Fairmont, WV. The race is being held to promote the Federal Government’s Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) as well as other organizations represented in the I-79 Technology Park. Offering a challenging, yet manageable course, this race will provide participants a chance to run through the I-79 Technology Park. A FREE Kids K Race will be held for children 12 and under. Activities will be held for the children following the Kids K.

Race-Day Registration: 7:30-8:30 AM on September 15th, 2012

Kids K Starts at: 8:30 AM

5K Run/Walk Starts at: 9:00 AM

Payment can be made with a credit card through Pierpont College. Visit the Class List page and search "CFC" in the upper right to locate the 5K Race, Walk, and Kids K to register and pay for the event.

Race/Course Description:
Kids K will be held in the parking lot behind the NASA IV&V Facility. Children 12 and under are allowed to participate. A registration/waiver form for each child will need to be completed. There is no cost for the Kids K. The Kids K race is non-competitive and will not be timed. Each participant will receive an award. There will be activities for the children following the Kids K.

The 5K run/walk will be completed via two 1.55 miles laps on a course that begins at the front of the NASA IV&V Facility and continues throughout the I-79 Technology Park. Course includes paved, hilly terrain where runners will complete two laps for a total of 3.1 miles (5K).

Racers will be timed by www.smileymiles.com. Souvenir t-shirt will be provided to all pre-registered run/walk participants. Post-race food and beverages will be available.

In the event of inclement weather or operational conflicts an alternate date will be selected.

A waiver of liability and hold harmless agreement shall be signed by all participants and turned in at registration on the day of the event. If a participant is under 18, the waiver shall be signed by a parent or legal guardian (waiver can be printed from this website).

Strollers are prohibited on the race course. Pets are prohibited within the I-79 Tech Park.

Awards:
Awards will be provided to all Kids K participants (12 and under). Awards will be provided to the first three male and first three female finishers of the 5k Run.
